To provide for social contact between members the Victorian branch holds Social meetings and layout operation sessions at the clubrooms for its members which are publicised in a six monthly agenda. Members pay a small fee at each activity which covers some of the general operating expenses of the clubrooms and the cost of providing tea/coffee and biscuits. Casual visitors are not required to pay a fee.
- Social Meetings are held at the clubrooms on the Second Thursday of each month, commencing at 8:00pm when members are entertained by a guest speaker or slide, film or video presentations. The clubrooms are open at 7:30pm for operation of HO trains on the club layout prior to the meeting.
- Timetable operation on the HO "Stonnington Valley" layout is held on the First Sunday and the Saturday following the Social meeting of each month commencing at 1:30pm and finishing at 5:30pm, and on the Third and Last Fridays of each month, commencing at 7:30pm and finishing no later than 11:30pm. Rolling stock at timetable sessions must be fitted with Kadee compatible couplers.
- Running days for our junior members are held on selected Saturdays during school terms, or on selected Wednesdays or Saturdays during school holidays commencing at 10:00am and finishing about 3:00pm.
- Work nights on the club layouts are held each Tuesday at 7:30pm.
- Daylighters are retired people and anyone else interested in maintaining the clubrooms and operating the layouts. They meet each Monday commencing at 9:30am and finishing at 3:30pm.
- large Scale Train Running on the Garden Railway is held on the Sunday following the Social meeting each month commencing at 10:00am and finishing at 5:00pm.
- Photographic and Modelling Competitions are judged at the Social Meeting each month
